There’s a line that helps us understand whether we are thriving or surviving in life and career.  Above the line, we’re open, curious, and intent on learning. Below it, we’re closed, defensive, and intent on being right. Our position determines the outcomes available to us.

The key is recognizing when we are above or below this line. Ego deliberately obscures the line, but with practice, we can quiet the ego and see where we really are.
